On Tuesday the 29th of April we had our final rehearsal and performance. We rehearsed our piece and our poem section until it was to a high standard. My group then proceeded to put on the face paint. This helped me to get into character as I felt that without it, our performance may not have been as good as it was.
Although we'd also created a movement section to the song 'Shopping', we did not put it in our final performance. We also had to add in transitions between each piece so that the audience would know when to move on.

For order 'A', the transition between the podium group to ours was that the girls would put money into a hat at our feet and they told the audience that we were buskers and by giving us money we would play some music. After our performance, Roz would come over to get the audience and tell them about the opening of her new shop, this meant that the audience would now be passed onto the next group. As we were the last group for order 'B' we had to get our audience back into The Forum so we could end the piece with the poem, so instead of sitting back down on the bench after 'Happy', we decided to get up and walk the audience to the shop. It was my idea to then point our hands in the direction of the door and stand still like dolls, and if we needed to move then we could as song as we finished the movement with a judder of movement.
The final performance went well for me. One difficult thing was to be quiet when it wasn't our turn to perform because, as we had face paint on many members of the public who were passing by were commenting, and sometimes the things they said were really rather funny! When the podium group had finished they passed the audience onto us and we began our section. I felt that we really rushed our performance the first time around as it went by so quickly. The audience interaction was good and even some passers by were stopping to watch us. I could tell that our audience enjoyed our piece because they were singing along and smiling. Once the group had moved on to the next section, we agreed that our next performance need to be a lot slower, but our energy and enthusiasm has been good, and I enjoyed performing it as much as the audience enjoyed watching it.
For the second performance we did slow it down, but it still seemed to go really quickly. We were much louder this time as well, which helped the audience to hear us. The transition of us taking the audience back to the Forum went okay, as at first I think the audience were a bit unsure of what they were meant to be doing, but once we got them walking it went smoothly and some of them were clapping and singing along to 'Happy'. As much as we were slower the second time round, we were still fast because the other group inside the shop hadn't finished by the time we'd got to them. This meant that our audience had to stand outside waiting for them to finish before they could go back in. As we were a large group waiting outside a shop, we were blocking the walkway, and some passersby had to move inbetween all of us to get through. I stayed in character throughout the time of us waiting outside. Once we were back inside the shop, we got into our positions and we began the poem. It was interesting to see the audience unsure of where to look, as we overlapped in some areas of the poem and so sometimes people would be looking at one group, and then they would quickly turn to look at another group. Our section of the poem went well, and it was only when we were doing the sign language that I remembered that one of the students in year 12 was deaf, and so we were able to included him in our piece better than any of the other groups, as we could understand ours more clearly because we had chosen to put sign language in our piece.
At the end of the performance, the year 12's got the chance to talk to us about the piece. A few of them came up to me and said that the song choices we chose were really good and fun and someone said they liked ours the best, which made me proud of what we had achieved. Emma Balaam said to our group that she really enjoyed our performance and that she wants us to perform it in our CAPsule cabaret performance next week. This means we get to perform it one last time which will be fun!
